The 1161 plant reminds me a fair amount of my 1566 plant from last year. Maybe not quite as thick of foliage, but the leaves, yellowish vines and plant vigor are very similar in most every other way. I guess it shouldn't be surprising since it is a reverse cross of the 1566 plant.

Latest Pictures from the Pumpkin Patch

It looks like you burried the vines under a bit of dirt. I'm new to big pumpkin growing...does that help make the pumpkins grow larger?
Where each leaf connects to the vine roots will grow out of the top and bottom of the vine. More roots, hopefully, means bigger pumpkins.
