If Five Is Average Seven is Good

Both pumpkins set new growing records today putting on 7 inches of circumference growth in a 24 hour period. I don't recall ever having a pumpkin do that before.

I gave both plants some compost tea this evening with worm castings, alfalfa pellets, humic acid and molasses in the mixture.

Hi Jamie...having found your site, I am having fun reading your archives. We live in NE Ohio and our son-in-law grew competition pumpkins for the Circleville, Oh show. He gave us a bunch of seeds to start from some breed of giant pumpkin. This is our learning year and I am sure we are doing everything wrong, but that's the fun of it. Carol

Hey Carol. Sorry for the late reply. I was out of town and missed your post. A good grower once said that everything the pumpkin needs to grow to a giant is in the seed. We just have to get out of it's way. Lol
