Planted a Cover Crop in the Pumpkin Patch Today

I saw that the forecast called for 60s and 70s here in Denver for the next five days so I put in a cover crop today. The seed mixture included winter rye, winter oats and vetch. I planned on putting those seeds down during the fall but a busy schedule and a very cool late fall didn't allow me to do that. I suspect with these warm temperatures that the seeds should germinate just fine and make for some nice green manure the end of April. They should also help get the myco going in the soil a little earlier.

Hi Jamie, where do you get your seeds from? Do they sell winter rye, winter oats and vetch seeds locally in garden centers or do they have to be purchased online somewhere? Thanks

I got my cover crop seeds from hollandsgiants.com. There are some local places that you can get cover crop seeds from but my local garden centers didn't have what I wanted and the other ones are a ways away.

I got my cover crop seeds from www.hollandsgiants.com. My local garden centers didn't have the kind of seeds that I wanted and the other local places were farther than I wanted to go to get 5lbs worth of seeds.
